A mecca for tourists and locals alike, the historic downtown St. Augustine dates back to 1565. Founded by Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles, the “Nation’s Oldest City” still has hints of Spanish flair. In the late 1800’s, Henry Flagler helped St. Augustine blossom into a booming resort community with his luxurious hotels which now house Flagler College, The Lightner Museum, and the Casa Monica. Today, a variety of architecturally styled homes make up the downtown neighborhoods and many of these homes have been lovingly restored into charming and unique residences. Downtown residents enjoy utilizing City services like sewer and water all while being within walking distance of St. George Street, Flagler College, the Castillo de San Marcos, and more.
